Gandhi tells us to “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Mindfully engage in your own unique strengths and interests and Be Recreation Therapy! Be RT believes that all people possess the inherent potential to maintain a state of optimal health and wellbeing. We will help you walk the path towards optimal health by engaging in personally meaningful recreation experiences.
Throughout these experiences we will use talk therapy techniques to support and enhance therapeutic value. We facilitate engaging therapeutic groups which offer a safe and supportive space to challenge yourself, heal, and improve. We connect our clients to the therapeutic potential of the natural environment through adventure therapy excursions.
Be RT also delivers interactive presentations to corporate, and community groups helping individuals to enhance self-awareness while improving group cohesion through compassion.
Be Inspired. Be Present. Be RT.
Be RT has helped our son to better understand himself. Working with Be RT has given our son the tools to boost his confidence, self-esteem, and to help him overcome his depression. Benson has helped us tremendously as a family on how to communicate effectively with each other in a loving way. Benson's approach is geared to each person's individuality and has helped our son recognize his strengths and abilities. Be RT has been able to help our son understand and overcome the barriers that have prevented him from doing the healthy things that he enjoys. Benson's caring and supportive approach is exactly what our family needed.
What is Recreation Therapy?
“Recreational therapy, also known as therapeutic recreation, is a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions, as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being. Further, "Recreational Therapy” means a treatment service designed to restore, remediate and rehabilitate a person’s level of functioning and independence in life activities, to promote health and wellness as well as reduce or eliminate the activity limitations and restrictions to participation in life situations caused by an illness or disabling condition.” (taken from atra-online.com on Nov 17/16)
